The first round of the 2024 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate tournament got off to a strong start with Arizona State holding a three-stroke lead over the rest of the field. The Sun Devils finished the first round with a six under par as a team to lead a total of six programs under par through the first round. Northwestern and Duke are both tied at three under par, host school South Carolina is at two under par with LSU and Mississippi State both at one under par. With another strong round today the Sun Devils can push their lead to an insurmountable one heading into Wednesday’s final round from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina this week.

Arkansas, Auburn, Texas and Wake Forest are all tied at even par after the first round with the rest of the field all over par as the second round tees off today.

The Sun Devils have two of the top four individual players in the event so far in Grace Summerhays and Patience Rhodes who are tied at three under par. They sit in a tie for third place just one stroke behind the leaders. Beth Coulter finished one over par and Paula Schultz-Hanssen is at eight over par to round out the Sun Devils individual players.

Ingrid Lindblad from the Tigers and Julia Lopez Ramirez from the Bulldogs are both tied at the top of the leaderboard at four under par after the first round. If Lindblad continues her play today and tomorrow she could give the Tigers back-to-back individual winners at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate tournament.
