Cole Ketrzynski led the Pepperdine offense with 19 kills on 30 swings for a hitting percentage of 60%. Defensively, Akin Akinwumi led the team with five digs along with Tyler Stewart who also finished with five digs. Stewart also supported offensive play, finishing the game with 39 assists at setter.

Despite suffering a loss to Long Beach State over the weekend, UCLA was able to bounce back to pick up the second win against The Beach and remain atop the national rankings. The Bruins are now 9-3 overall after their four-set victory against Long Beach State on Saturday. Grant Sloane led the offense with 16 kills, but three other Bruins finished the game with double digit kills with support from Andrew Rowan at setter who finished the game with 59 assists. Ethan Champlin led in the back court with 17 digs to hold off the offensive onslaught of Long Beach State.
Pepperdine finished last year's regular season with a pair of games against UCLA and suffered four-set losses in both.
