The Hoosiers come into conference play with an overall record of 14-2 and are on a two-game win streak with the most recent being a 7-6 win over Pomona-Pitzer in California. Sophia Sollie and Grace Hathaway each finished the game with two goals apiece to lead the Hoosiers' offense. Jasmine Higgs played the full game in net for Indiana and although she allowed six goals, she came up big several times and finished the game making 11 saves to hold on to the win.

The Bruins have played well so far this season and come into Saturday's conference matchup with a perfect overall record of 14-0 and an MPSF record of 1-0. The team's most recent game was played against No. 2 Hawaii and resulted in a 15-9 win at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational. Anna Pearson led the offensive efforts for the Bruins with four goals while Malia Allen is added a hat trick to the scoreboard. Lauren Steele played in net for the Bruins and made 15 saves to keep her team undefeated.
When UCLA and Indiana met to kick off the 2023 season, the Bruins earned a 15-6 win at home.
