NC State comes into Friday night's dual meet with an overall record of 15-2 and an ACC record of 4-0. The Wolfpack's last meet was against Duke and resulted in a 36-9 victory. This marked the 10th consecutive win against Duke and the sixth straight dual meet victory this season for the Wolfpack. The last meeting between these two teams dates back to last year when Virginia Tech won a tightly contested match by a score of 16-14.
