President Biden will address Congress on Thursday night for the annual State of the Union address where he will touch on issues within the United States in preparation for the 2024 presidential election which is now eight months away.

On Thursday night, President Biden is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union address in front of a joint session of Congress at 9 p.m. ET. The President's plan is to share his plans for the upcoming year and share his administration's successes partially in preparation for what is playing out to be a rematch against former President Donald Trump in November's election. The annual remarks typically serve as the vehicle for the president to lay out his policy accomplishments and priorities for the coming months, and provide him with what is likely to be his largest television audience between now and Election Day.

It is likely that on Thursday night, Biden will try to quiet concerns about his age as he points out the distinctions between his party and the GOP. With the election now eight months away and preparations for what he hopes to be a second term begin, Biden will need to wow the nation with his address as Trump continues to climb the polls.

After Biden finishes his address, which usually lasts around an hour, Senator Katie Britt of Alabama will respond for the Republican party as the first female senator to represent the state in the Senate.

Tune in Thursday night to see where Biden stands on current issues within the country.
