At the 2023 São Paulo Grand Prix, Max Verstappen finished second in both Q1 and Q2, first behind George Russell and then Lando Norris. The Red Bull driver banked the pole-winning time when it matters in Q3, though, claiming his 11th pole of the season.
Despite claiming his 31st career pole, Verstappen admitted that the lap wasn't his finest, "Our laps felt terrible! But I don’t know, the wind started to change and started to be very strong, and we lost a lot of lap time because of it, but it was all quite hectic in the last lap."
