For the second straight year, Mart (15-0) and Albany (15-0) wound up on a collision course for the Texas 2A Division II state championship game. The rematch is set for Thursday morning at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The defending champion Lions bring a 26-game winning streak into the title game, while Mart's Panthers have won 15 straight since their 41-21 loss to Albany last December. Mart came back from 10 points down in the middle of the third quarter to beat Chilton in its semifinal matchup at Crusader Stadium in Belton on Friday. In their semifinal game on Dec. 7 at Lowrey Field in Lubbock, the Lions took the lead late in the first quarter against Sunray and never looked back.

The Panthers took the lead early in the fourth quarter when De'Montreal Medlock connected with Kyler Medlock on a 73-yard touchdown pass and went on to a 38-24 win over Chilton. With the extra point, Mart's Armando Chavez became the all-time national record holder with 351 career conversions. JD Bell ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns, while Medlock finished with 123 yards and a score on the ground. Hocking had four catches for 144 yards.
Adam Hill carried the ball 26 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns in Albany's 34-14 victory over Sunray. Chip Chambers was 14-of-20 for 204 yards and two scores and Cason Fairchild hauled in six passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Hill also provided two sacks on defense.
Hill has run for 2,502 yards and 42 touchdowns this season, while Chambers has 2,438 yards and 35 touchdowns through the air. Fairchild is the top target with 62 receptions for 1,153 yards and 14 touchdowns. For Mart, Bell has 2,336 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns, while Medlock compiled 1,274 yards and 23 scores and threw for 18 touchdowns with just one interception.
