In the quarterfinals the Raiders upset second-seeded Centennial (4-3) to earn their way into the semifinals. Now they are another upset away from an appearance in the state championship game on Saturday.
For the Storm, they ran away with a 7-0 win over Rochester-Century/John Marshall last round. They were another team coming out of the random draw paving the way for the Storm to make a run at the state championship this season. This is the first matchup of the season between the Storm and Raiders, which could be a game-of-the-year contender with how both teams are currently playing.
The winner of this game will face either top-seeded Edina or fifth-seeded Grand Rapids tomorrow at the Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota high school hockey is some of the best in the country and that championship matchup could serve as a de facto national championship this season.
