On Monday evening, some of the best players in men's lacrosse will take to the field in Massachusetts as Atlas LC and Cannons LC square off in the first round of playoffs. The PLL is an American professional field lacrosse league made up of 8 teams. The league's inaugural season debuted on June 1, 2019, and included a 14-week tour-based schedule taking place in 12 cities. The league was founded by the American professional lacrosse player Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil. The league gives college graduates the opportunity to continue their lacrosse careers after graduation while spreading popularity for the sport across the country.

Atlas comes into Monday's game with a record of 2-8 this season which puts the team in second to last place in the standings. The Cannons are currently 7-3 which is good enough for a spot in second place in the standings. Most recently, Atlas dropped a 12-7 game to the Redwoods. The Cannons are coming off of a 15-11 win against the Whipsnakes last weekend. Marcus Holman led the Cannons offensively with four goals and three assists in the win for a seven-point game. Colin Kirst anchored the defense in net and made 11 saves in the victory.
