How to Watch 2023 TCS New York City Marathon: Stream Track and Field Live, TV Channel

Men's field for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon is wide open with defending champion Evans Chebet opting out while Sharon Lokedi defends women's title.

The sixth and final World Marathon Major of the season is set for Sunday morning as runners are expected to have favorable weather conditions for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon. After a hot, humid race in 2022, the forecast is for more seasonal conditions, with temperatures expected in the 50s and low 60s. Defending women's champion Sharon Lokedi of Kenya is back to defend the title she won in her first career marathon. Reigning Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya won in New York in 2021 and is coming off a third-place finish at the World Championships in London earlier this year.

She is the world-record holder at both 10,000 meters and the half-marathon. 2023 Boston Marathon winner Hellen Obiri of Kenya was sixth in New York last fall. Kenyan Brigid Kosgei has five Marathon Major wins to her credit.

Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia is in search of his first Marathon Major victory after third places in Tokyo in 2022 and London this year. He finished fourth in New York in both 2018 and 2019.

Kenya's Edward Cheserek is making his marathon debut and might be the most recognizable runner for the home crowd. Cheserek won a record 17 NCAA titles while competing at the University of Oregon from 2012-16.
