The Tampa Bay Rays return to the mainland on Monday to host the Toronto Blue Jays at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida

The Tampa Bay Rays (4-9) dropped both ends of a weekend series in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and return to Florida on Monday to host the Toronto Blue Jays (6-9) at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida. The Rays took an injury hit on Sunday when outfielder Jonny DeLuca broke his right hand in Sunday's game. DeLuca, expected to be Tampa Bay's fourth outfielder, was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers along with right-hander Ryan Pepiot in the deal that sent pitcher Tyler Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot to L.A. back in December. The Rays have reached the playoffs five consecutive seasons while Toronto has made back-to-back postseason visits.

Tampa Bay led 3-0 and 5-2 before taking a 7-6 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday in Santo Domingo. Richie Palacios, acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals in January, homered, as did Curtis Mead. Aaron Civale allowed one run in 3.1 innings in his longest outing thus far in spring training.

The Blue Jays lost one and tied one on Sunday, both against the Baltimore Orioles. Toronto gave up five first-inning runs in its home game and fell 11-6. Alejandro Kirk had two hits, including a two-run homer. In a 6-6 tie in their road game, all of the Blue Jays' runs came via the long ball, with Ernie Clement belting a three-run shot, Brian Serven hitting a two-run job and Alan Roden going solo.

Right-hander Zach Eflin is set to make his second start of the spring for the Rays after he was roughed up for four runs while striking out three in 1.2 innings his first time out. Right-hander Mitch White has allowed three runs and walked six in six innings of relief work and is set to get his first starting assignment in Florida for Toronto.
