On Monday night, Pacific Division foes meet up in Canada when the Los Angeles Kings (29-17-10) visit the Edmonton Oilers (33-20-2) at Rogers Place. Entering play on Monday these two teams sit tied for third place in the Pacific Division with 68 standings points - although the Oilers (55 games played) have one game in hand on the Kings (56). This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. Both of the first two matchups were played in Los Angeles. The Oilers took the first meeting in late December 3-2 in a shootout. Then earlier this month the Kings got revenge on home ice, shutting the Oilers out 4-0 behind a 26-save effort from goalie David Rittich.

That shutout win came early on in what has been a strong stretch for the Kings. Dating back to late February, Los Angeles is 7-2-0 over its last nine games. Last time out on Saturday the Kings narrowly extended this stretch of strong play, needing a shootout to beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2.
On the other side, the Oilers made their big run for the season before the All-Star break when they won 16 games in a row. Since that stretch ended, Edmonton is 4-4-1. The Oilers have lost three games in a row, including a 6-3 defeat at home against the Calgary Flames on Saturday last time out.
