Then over the weekend the Red Wings played a home-road back-to-back, knocking off the St. Louis Blues 6-1 in Detroit on Saturday before beating the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime on Sunday.

Right Wing Patrick Kane scored the game-winner in that game, which marked his first game back in Chicago after being traded by the Blackhawks at least year's trade deadline. Prior to that trade Kane had spent his first 16 NHL seasons in Chicago.
The Capitals are in the middle of a home-road back-to-back of their own. Washington was in action on Monday, hosting the Ottawa Senators. The Caps picked up a 6-3 win in that game with center Hendrix Lapierre scoring a pair of goals in the second period. Those tallies came after Washington came out of the gates with four goals in the first period.
