On an eight-game winning streak, the Nashville Predators aim to remain in the Western Conference playoff chase tonight as they welcome the Montreal Canadiens inside Bridgestone Arena. The Canadiens have dropped nine of their last 11 games including five in a row on away ice. The Predators, owners of the NHL’s longest active winning streak, are currently tied with the Los Angeles Kings at 72 points clinging to a five-point lead over St. Louis for the final wild-card spot in the west. Nashville has won eight of the last 10 meetings in this series and has not lost at home to Montreal since January of 2017.

Predators goaltender Juuse Saros is tied for sixth in the NHL with 26 wins this season and has held each of his last six opponents to two goals or less posting a stellar .954 save percentage during the winning streak. Saros, in his ninth season with the Predators, has a career 173-116 record with a 2.61 goals-against average and a career save percentage of .918.

Montreal ranks in the bottom third of the NHL on the power play and penalty kill and is in the bottom five in goals scored and goals allowed per game.

In their last meeting, Nashville’s Colton Sissons scored both goals on three shots in a 2-1 road win over Montreal in mid-December.
