The Panthers bolstered their Stanley Cup aspirations on Wednesday when they acquired Tarasenko in a trade with the Ottawa Senators for a conditional 2024 draft pick. Tarasenko has 44 goals in 97 career playoff games, scoring 11 goals en route to helping the St. Louis Blues hoist the Cup in 2019. Florida has won 16 of their last 18 games including six in a row and have five consecutive wins on home ice.

Center Sam Reinhart is second in the league with 45 goals this season and leads the Panthers' scoring attack with 25 of those goals coming on the power play. Reinhart, the number two overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, has tallied career-high goal totals since being traded by Buffalo to Florida in July of 2021 and has six goals in his last four games.
The Panthers rank in the top 10 on both the power play and penalty kill, leading to top-10 rankings in goals allowed and goals scored per game.
The Flyers come into tonight in the third spot in the Metropolitan division, six points behind Carolina for second and 14 points behind the Rangers.
