The best pickleball players in the world are in San Clemente, California this weekend for the PPA Finals presented by CIBC. Pickleball’s premier event will take place at Life Time Rancho Clemente, a luxury athletic resort. The stars of the game will battle for more PPA rankings points with the hopes of being crowned the year-end PPA World No. 1, the ultimate achievement in pickleball. The prestigious season finale will feature only the top-eight qualified singles players and doubles teams in the world. PPA Rankings Presented by Southwest Rapid Rewards are displayed in two separate formats: 52 Week and The Race. The 52 Week ranking is the accumulation of a player’s points over the past 52 weeks, whereas The Race is the points a player has earned since the start of the calendar year.

Coming into this weekend, the top six spots on the men's doubles side were being held by Americans with brothers Ben Johns and Collin Johns claiming the top two spots. Ben is in the lead 17,700 points in race points and brother Collin is only trailing by 700 points. Ben Johns is also leading in men's singles with 14,500 points with Federico Staksrud sitting in second with 12,000 points.
Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau are still holding the top two spots in women's doubles with 20,500 and 15,850 points, respectively. Both women also lead the scoreboard in singles play as well, with Waters sitting in first with 18,100 points and Parenteau sitting nearly five thousand points behind with 13,600.
Tune in Sunday evening as the season comes to a close at the Finals and watch as the top players are crowned PPA World No. 1.
