Pac-12 South Invitational play will continue Sunday afternoon for No. 7 Cal as the team plays No. 10 Arizona State at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility. The Golden Bears came into the weekend with a record of 6-2 and improved it to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play yesterday. The team opened up tournament play against Utah and picked up a quick 5-0 victory with all five pairs winning in straight sets. The Bears took on No. 2 Stanford in their second game and fell 5-0 against the powerhouse Cardinal. Sierra Caffo and Kendall Peters were able to push their game to a third set after winning the first, but Xolani Hodel and Brooke Rockwell came back to win the next two sets and secure the sweep for Stanford.

The Sun Devils opened up tournament play against No. 1 UCLA on Saturday morning, ultimately falling 5-0 in straight sets across the board to the Bruins. The team regrouped, however, and pulled off a huge upset with a 3-2 victory over No. 2 Stanford in its second match. Going into the fifth game, the match was tied up at 2-2. Taryn Ames and Lexi Sweeney went back and forth in their game, but finally pulled away at the end to clinch the dual and improve to 7-1 on the year.
