On Sunday afternoon, No. 17 Mississippi State and Ole Miss will conclude their first SEC series of the season as the teams meet in Oxford. The Rebels come into Sunday's series finale with an overall record of 15-7 and a conference record of 0-2 after dropping the first two games to the Bulldogs. Friday's game resulted in a 5-1 loss while yesterday's ended in a 4-0 shutout. The team struggled offensively as it finished the game without a hit in the contest. Aynslie Furbush got the start for the Rebels, and ultimately the loss, as she pitched 3.1 innings and gave up four earned runs while striking out one.

The Bulldogs improved to 19-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play after yesterday's 4-0 victory in Oxford. The team has now won eight straight games and will look to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon. In Saturday's shutout, Aspen Wesley was the star as she threw her first career no-hitter. Wesley is the third Bulldog to throw a no-hitter this season which is the most since 2006. Offensively, Salen Hawkins went 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI on the day while Nadia Barbary went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
