On Saturday night, the IHSA Class 4A state tournament will come to a close as Normal Community and Homewood Flossmoor meet in the championship game. Normal Community won its semifinal game against Palatine High School in a 58-38 victory to earn a spot in the final. In the win, Braylon Roman scored 19 points while teammate Jaheem Webber recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Webber also recorded six blocks in the win. Normal Community is returning to the state championship game for the first time since its loss back in 2015. On the season, Normal Community is 32-5 overall with Braylon Roman leading the scoring with 400 points and 91 assists on the season.

Homewood-Flossmoor comes into Saturday's final with an overall record of 32-4 and is led offensively by Bryce Heard who has 574 points and 212 rebounds on the season. Homewood-Flossmoor earned a spot in the championship after defeating New Trier 40-35. The game was tied 11-11 at halftime, but Homewood-Flossmor was able to pull away in the second half. The team was led by Heard who scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the game. Gianni Cobb added 12 points, 10 of which were scored in the second half. Cobb was named All-Conference Selection Player of the Year, averaging 20.6 points per conference game.
