How to Watch Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest: Stream Premier League Live, TV Channel in Canada

Aston Villa is desperate to end its recent home hoodoo in a visit from a newly invigorated Nottingham Forest

After finally snagging a first win of 2024 to improve its chances in the battle against Premier League relegation, Nottingham Forest travels to Aston Villa on Saturday in the hopes of going back-to-back. And Unai Emery’s side just so happens to be in the midst of a collapse in form after previously boasting the best home record in the division, losing their last three outings at Villa Park. The Villans haven’t lost four home games on the bounce since the relegation year of 2016, but a serious dip in confidence and a string of injury setbacks in defense have seriously dented their spirits of late.

In Villa’s defense, the club’s stretch of three home defeats has come against some valiant opposition in Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United.

That being said, it wasn’t all that long ago that such fixtures were seen as very winnable for the Birmingham outfit, hinting at the adverse effect recent fitness setbacks have had on the squad.

The main concern is options in central defense, with Diego Carlos recently joining Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa on the treatment table, along with midfield anchor Boubacar Kamara.

Nuno Espirito Santo travels to Birmingham with striker Chris Wood and World Cup-winner Gonzalo Montiel as his only absentees, meanwhile, with few (if any) changes expected for the visiting team.

After going undefeated at Villa Park during the first half of the campaign, it’s difficult to conceive Emery’s side could make it to March of this calendar year without picking up a win.

Villa won this fixture 2-0 last April, which was the first time this century that Forest had made the trip to Villa Park as a Premier League side.

Forest has since returned the favor with a 2-0 win at the City Ground in November, with Nuno hoping to replicate that result after replacing Steve Cooper at the helm a month later.
